Can a hibachi chef cook at an Airbnb, VRBO, or vacation rental?
What rentals we cook at
Single-family vacation homes, condos with outdoor amenity decks, resort villas (Reunion, Sandestin, 30A communities, Rosemary Beach, Marco Island), Airbnb and VRBO rentals of all sizes. We cook almost every weekend at 30A, Siesta Key, Orlando resorts, Destin, and Miami Beach rentals.
How we handle vendor rules
For gated communities, add Fork Yeah Hibachi to the guest list the morning of your event — we check in at the gate. For resort properties, we send our vendor info (COI, business license, chef credentials) to the resort office in advance.
Where we set up at a rental
Pool deck first choice (most Florida rentals have one). Driveway second. Covered lanai or patio third. Garage with the door up as a rain backup. We never cook in a rental's indoor kitchen because of fire alarms and HVAC smoke circulation.
Do I need to tell my rental host?
Yes, as a courtesy — most hosts are fine with it, and many actively encourage it as part of the guest experience. Some HOAs require written notice. We can provide a one-page vendor packet to send your host if asked.
Cost compared to going out
For a group of 15 at a vacation rental: hibachi at the rental = $750 all in, no Ubers, kids in the pool. Going out = 15 restaurant reservations (hard), Ubers for the drinkers ($200+), kids restricted to the dining room, parents stressed. The rental dinner wins almost every trip.
