Why companies swap the steakhouse for a hibachi chef
The standard corporate dinner has a problem: it is expensive and nobody remembers it. A steakhouse table for 25 lands at $120–$180 per person once drinks and tip are in, and the team splits into the same three conversation groups they sit in at the office. A private hibachi chef at a rental house, a team member's backyard, or the office courtyard costs a third of that and gives the group one shared thing to react to.
The format also fits how teams actually gather now: distributed people flying into Orlando or Tampa for a two-day offsite, a sales kickoff that needs a night that is not a hotel ballroom, a client dinner where the host does not want to spend the evening flagging servers.

Corporate formats we run
Team offsite dinner
15–40 people at the retreat rental. Two-protein package; 7 pm start after the last session.
Office courtyard lunch
Weekday 12–1:30 pm on the patio or parking area. Buffet package keeps the line moving.
Client appreciation
8–20 guests, three-protein package with filet and lobster. The chef makes the host look good.
Holiday party
December, 20–80 people. Multi-station so everyone eats together. Holiday details.
Sales kickoff / all-hands
40–120 people. Two to four chef stations, timed service, one invoice.
Retirement send-off
15–40 colleagues and family. The fire show gives the toast a stage.
How booking works for a company
- Request: Send the date, city, headcount range, and venue type through the booking form or call (352) 651-3827. Quote comes back the same business day with any travel fee itemized.
- Paperwork: We provide a W-9, certificate of insurance, and a company invoice. Card or ACH. A $50 deposit holds the date and is credited to your final bill. Cancel free 14 or more days out.
- Menu: Buffet (fastest for 40+), or per-person protein picks collected by your office manager on a shared sheet we send. Dietary counts a week out.
- Venue check: We need an open-air flat spot about 10 ft by 10 ft. Office courtyards, loading zones, rooftop terraces, rental-house decks, and hotel pool areas with permission all work.
- Event: Chef arrives 45–60 minutes early, cooks 60–75 minutes with the show in the middle, breaks down completely. Your facilities team does nothing.
What a team lead said
“Our last corporate dinner was $180/person at a steakhouse and nobody remembers it. This was $50/person and my team WON'T STOP talking about it. Already booked our holiday party.”

Corporate hibachi pricing by headcount
Every package includes the chef, the portable teppanyaki griddle and propane, every ingredient, hibachi fried rice, salad with ginger dressing, yum yum and teriyaki sauce, plates and utensils, the fire show, and full cleanup. Buffet Style ($35) is chicken, steak, and shrimp served buffet-style with hibachi fried rice and salad. The Two- and Three-Protein tiers add grilled vegetables and let each guest pick their own proteins from chicken, steak, shrimp, salmon, scallops, or tofu, cooked to order. Per-person pricing makes budget approval simple — there are no service charges, rental fees, or staffing lines.

Frequently asked questions
How much does corporate hibachi catering cost in Florida?
Corporate hibachi runs $35–$60 per person with a $500 event minimum. A team of 25 on the two-protein package is $1,250 all in. Most companies compare that to a steakhouse team dinner at $120–$180 per person and a catered buffet at $45–70 that comes with no entertainment.
Can you invoice our company and provide a W-9 and certificate of insurance?
Yes. We invoice to the company, accept card or ACH, and send a W-9 and certificate of insurance on request. Office parks and hotels usually ask for the COI about a week before the event.
Can you cook at our office?
Yes, if there is an outdoor space: a parking area, courtyard, loading zone, rooftop terrace, or covered patio. The griddle runs on propane so we need an open-air spot roughly 10 ft by 10 ft. For indoor-only buildings we recommend a nearby rental house or a team member’s backyard.
How many people can you serve at a corporate event?
One chef station serves up to about 40 people within the hour. For 40–80 we send two chefs; for larger all-hands events we build a multi-station plan so every team eats in the same window.
Is a hibachi dinner actually team building or just dinner?
The fire show is an interactive performance: the chef pulls people in to catch food, pour sake, and compete across the griddle. It is the icebreaker that a hotel ballroom dinner never manages, and it works for remote teams meeting in person for the first time.
Do you do holiday parties and client appreciation events?
Yes — December corporate holiday parties, Q4 client dinners, sales-kickoff dinners, retreat nights, and retirement send-offs. See the dedicated holiday party page for December planning.
How far ahead do we need to book?
Weeknight corporate dinners can often be booked 1–2 weeks out. December and conference weeks in Orlando, Miami, and Tampa book 4–6 weeks out. A $50 deposit holds the date and is credited to your final bill. Cancel free 14 or more days out.
Is there a travel fee?
A travel fee may apply depending on distance from our chef base and is itemized in your quote before you approve it. There is no equipment fee and no cleanup fee.
