Hibachi party on a $2,000 budget
What a $2000 hibachi party budget actually gets you in Florida — group size, package, and what to prioritize.
What $2,000 gets you
| If you pick... | Max adults | Total cost |
|---|---|---|
| Buffet ($35/head) | 57 | $1995 |
| Two-protein ($50/head) | 40 | $2000 |
| Three-protein ($60/head) | 33 | $1980 |
All above assume no kids under 12 and no filet/lobster upgrades. Kids under 12 are $30 flat each; filet +$10/head; lobster +$15/head.
Recommended for $2,000
At $2,000 you have real flexibility. Three-protein for 30 ($1,800) with filet upgrades for the main event ($300 for 30), or two-protein for 40 ($2,000). Milestone-event territory.
What to spend MORE on if your budget allows
- Filet mignon upgrade (+$10/head) — guests notice this one more than any other upgrade. For a milestone event, add it.
- Three-protein package (vs. two) — pays for itself in the "I've never had steak and lobster at the same backyard dinner" moment.
- Chef tip — $100-$150 cash to the chef at the end of a great night is the single biggest driver of them absolutely crushing the next event you book.
- Dessert from a real bakery — not from us (we don't do dessert) but a $50 cake from a local bakery completes the night.
What NOT to spend extra on
- Fancy plates/serving dishes — our standard is good enough. Rent only if the venue requires it.
- Overdoing the open bar — hibachi + alcohol is already a lot of experience. 1-2 bottles of good wine and a signature cocktail beats an open bar.
- Multiple chefs for small groups — one chef handles up to 25 comfortably. Don't pay for a second if your group is under 25.
