Christmas week at an Orlando villa
needs one night that is not a park.

After two days of Magic Kingdom food, nobody wants another $18 burger. Here is the villa dinner night that resets the whole trip.

Short answer

Christmas week Orlando villa trips almost always need one dinner-at-the-villa night by day three. Restaurants near the parks are mobbed, Disney Springs waits are 90+ minutes, and the drive back to a Reunion / Championsgate / Windsor Hills villa in holiday traffic is an hour. A private chef at the villa for 10-20 people lands at $35-$60 per person, no driving, kids in the pool until food is up.

Why dinner is the real pain point of a Christmas-week Disney trip

A park day ends at 9pm. Dinner at any sit-down near I-Drive or Lake Buena Vista means a 60-120 minute wait at 9:30pm with hungry kids who have been walking since 7am. Disney Springs is worse: it is a parking garage, then a 15-minute walk, then a line.

Driving back to a villa in Reunion, Championsgate, Windsor Hills, or Vista Cay in Christmas week traffic takes 45-70 minutes. By the time you unlock the villa it is 10:30pm and the kids are melting down.

The one dinner-at-the-villa night rescues the whole trip

Pick a non-park day in the middle of the trip, usually day three or four. Book a private hibachi chef for a 5:30 or 6pm serve time. Everybody gets back from the pool, the chef arrives at 4:30 to set up on the lanai, cooks and does the fire show while nobody has to be anywhere.

This single move usually turns the trip around. Energy comes back, bedtime happens by 9pm, and the next park day starts with people who actually slept.

What this looks like at a Reunion / Championsgate / Windsor Hills villa

Most of these villas have a covered pool deck or screened lanai. That is where the griddle goes. Our chef brings everything: griddle, propane, food, plates, utensils, sauces. You pick two proteins (chicken, steak, shrimp, scallops are the usual) and we cook on-site in 60-75 minutes with a 15-minute fire show.

For a villa of 10 adults and 4 kids under 12 on the two-protein package: 10 x $50 + 4 x $30 = $620 all inclusive. No drive. No tip pressure. No 11pm bedtime for the kids.

Common questions

Do you cook on Christmas Day?

Yes. Christmas Day serve times (noon-2pm and 5-7pm) book 6-8 weeks ahead. Christmas Eve dinner is the most popular villa night and typically needs 4-6 weeks notice.

Is there a holiday surcharge?

No. Pricing is identical year round. December 24, 25, 26 and New Year's Eve all run at standard rates ($35 / $50 / $60 per person).

Can you cook on a Disney Vacation Club property?

Yes, with notice to the resort. Most DVC resorts allow outside catering with a certificate of insurance, which we provide. We handle the paperwork.

What about a villa with no outdoor cover?

An uncovered pool deck or driveway works if the forecast is clear. If rain is likely we bring a 10x10 pop-up shelter. In Orlando winter rain is usually brief.

How late can I book for Christmas week?

Christmas week usually sells out 4-6 weeks ahead. Dec 23 and Dec 29-30 are the hardest dates. Jan 1-5 is almost always available with 1-2 weeks notice.
